here’s a sweet treat….http://allrecipes.com/recipe/eclairs-ii/Detail.aspxDSCN5613

Life has been busy. I’ve finished a few sweaters and other projects, there are many more that need to be finished. I knit Tree Jacket, Owls, Wicked, chevaliar mittens, probably some lace and socks since the last post. I havn’t taken pics of all of it but my sd slot in my laptop wont hold the disk in place about 90% of the time, very frustrating. I can’t wait to buy a new one, I was waiting for windows 7, now I just have to find the extra cash. I managed to get the card to stay now but only had pictures of the yummy eclairs I made from scratch, easier than you may think.

I can’t beleive it is already November!  I want to make mittens for all the ladies in my family for Christmas but well shall see how that goes, likly it won’t go. I need to blog more that’s for sure, and will. I will try to take pics of some things I have finished and get them on ravelry and here.

Happy Fourth!!!

Where did the time go?

•July 4, 2009 • 1 Comment

I have been busy lately working, sick for a couple weaks, and been to the doctor many times about a mystery wrist injury. The verdict is I have a Ganglion Cyst and DeQuervains Tensynovitis, I still think this is not an accurate diagnosis but I am really all set with the doctor appts. However I still can knit, actually knitting helps the pain and movement in my wrist on a flare-up. I have finished many lace projects….

I finished a few projects….

A Leaf in A Leaf, I made it with a single skein of malabrigo lace that I had stashed. I was a quick project taking only a few days to finish. I had soaked and blocked, it was dry a few hours later, gotta love the malabrigo.

I also blocked my Shetland Triange made from Frog Tree Alpaca in a very pretty blue color…

I am working on the border of the South Seas Stole, I am about 25% done with it. I am just about done with the third Shetland Triangle that I made as well, I think it may be off the needles and onto the blocking wires tonight. I started the Boxleaf Triangle from Anne Hanson, only mod was doing it on lace weight with Malabrigo lace. I started the Shipwreck Shawl from Knitty.com as well. I really need to finish Madli’s Shawl, I think I will only use 2 skeins of the 3 and make a second Leaf In A Leaf with it, however I will go up a needle size or two. I have soo many lace projects I want to knit.

Anyone have $417.22????

An entire month and no post, oops

I have been busy this month, some personal crud to deal with. I wasn’t on the computer much, it was having issues and was so slow. I ran some stuff and fixed it up, still a new one is on the wishlist. I finished a bunch of projects mostly lace, which is still on my kitchen counter unblocked just waiting for its moment. I think I may block one today, I will wait to post pictures until they are blocked.  Besides the craputer, I had a right hand wrist injury, I could not bend it forward more than a few centimeters. Slowly through a week or so it has returned back to normal range in motion, however I had seen an ortho who is sending me for an MRI and to a hand surgery specialist in Boston. This is not the first time I have had this problem, I am glad that the doctors are making an effort to figure out the problem, at least I can still knit my light as a feather lace projects.

Speaking of lace, I got my swap package in the mail. I am in the Amazing Lace Swap on www.ravelry.com, I was paired up with Woolerized, she spoiled me. She sent 3 skeins of Malabrigo Lace in a beautiful bright yellow and 3 skeins of Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud to become the South Seas Stole. I started on that right away, in a week I had the center panel done and am now working on the border. It is a great pattern and I chose the beaded version. I had so much fun with the beads, my next project to start will be the Shipwreck Shawl from the current issue of Knitty.com. There are 5000 (not a typo really) beads, I stashed some beads from A.C Moore and the yarn is on the way. I hope the beads will string on, they look small. If not I will return what I purchased and buy on-line at www.beadwrangler.com, looks like a great site. I ordered yarn through Knit Picks for that project as well as some lace for the Aeolian Shawl. I have also placed 2 orders for lace this month at www.handpaintedyarn.com, not the softest of lace though I don’t find it scratchy. I have started the Shetland Triangle for the third time, this time using the handpaintedyarn Lace. It looks great, I will let you know how soft it gets after a soak. I think for $7.20 per 850 yards I don’t mind it being slightly stiffer than other lace.

Catching up…

I have not blogged much, sorry. I finished a few projects… Fetching and Snug Cowl, both in Malabrigo Silky Merino. Snug Cowl is my very own and first written pattern, I posted it on ravelry as a free pattern. I am currently working on writting my second pattern for a hat. I also whipped up a Shetland Triangle in a few days, using Kreamer Silk & Silver, its a silk/merino blend with nylon, fingering weight with real sterling silver spun in it. It is so hard to get a good picture of it though. I will be wearing it to the U2 Show next week, I won tickets to the invite only event — so exciting!!!! I started a second Shetland in Frog Tree Alpaca Wool, It is so soft and cozy however the first ball has had almost a dozen knots and ties in it — that sucks.

MISSION POSSIBLE 2009

•January 27, 2009 • 2 Comments

I think I am off to a good start this year, already finishing 2 WIPs from months ago and other projects, but here goes….

twelve things to get done in 2009….

I am off to a good start, I finished my FLS that I started in Aug and my Clapotis.

1. Lizard Ridge Blanket, I have a few panels done and tons of Keruyon stashed.

2. Assemblege, I have a sleeve and part of the back done.

3. Firmaments Lace Shawl, decide to finish or frog

4. Madli’s Shawl, finish it

5. Prismatic Scarf, started it last March (maybe it can be done in a year)

6. Triangle Lace Shawl, finish it

7.  Central Park Hoodie, been on my queue forever

8. February Lady Sweater #3, knit in a warmer weather wearable fiber, gets cold in the office

9. Use the Vaa and Amoroso Malabrigo, either finish the projects they are or reknit.

10. Knit something for my Aunt Jeanie in the yarn she gave me.

11. Use the orange Classic Elite Silky Alpaca in my stash

 12. And get my sock projects under control (I was doing the 52 Pair Plunge but lost the desire for it)

I hope to work from the queue and make a dent in the stashbusting this year, I would like to not have so many wips sitting and hogging my needles.
